COACHING - How is brain based coaching different from traditional Coaching?

Coaching with Neuroscience is differs in several ways.multiple. Firstly, It is more effective because it communicates with the three main areas of brain function, logic, emotion and defensive /survival states. When our defense states are no longer engaged, E.g Fear of failure, our tendency to sabotage our success diminishes greatly and we are more likely to rationally find our way around obstacles that present themselves. Secondly, the programme is constructed to appeal to all parts of the brain and make sure that they are all on the ‘same page’, striving for your goal, whether personal, work or socially structured. Thirdly, you are not required to talk to make the session valuable. This is not a talk it out based coaching which tends to be focused on the cortical / rational brain. Strategies will be discussed when needed, however the rational/logical thinking brain has very little to do with decision making and goal motivation, even though it ‘makes sense’.

COACHING - Who can use brain based coaching?

The answer is anyone! We have programmes designed to benefit everyone from those wanting to deal with an episode of stress which is holding them back, those who suffer chronic stress, to those who want to function like elite sports people in their given area of professional or personal endeavor. Because neural and sensory integration improves the way we adapt and respond to the world, no matter what our starting point we design a programme for you.

Why not book a discovery call today and find out how our programmes can specifically benefit you?

COACHING - Will my old patterns and ways come back, risking my achievements?

Once your nervous system responds appropriately with rationality, emotion or appropriate defensiveness in a balanced way, like physical development and maturity it can’t be undone, the developmental ‘rewiring’ is permanent. You will always function at a more mature level. You will handle events and situations of stress or past reaction, whether mild or extreme much more naturally and easily. Difficulties and conflicts will be resolved more quickly demanding much less time and energy.

COACHING - Do I need to consciously change my thinking and feeling??

The coaching programme does not require you to actively change how you think or feel. Our brain based coaching programmes trigger your natural developmental phases and your nervous system develops itself. You will be able to observe and enjoy this development and there is no need to consciously intervene. The changes will be spontaneous and positive and show themselves in in how you begin to think and feel.

COACHING - Will I feel tired during brain based coaching?

This depends on the person and the goals that have been set. Change ‘rewiring’ takes both time and energy and if an outcome requires marked change, people can go through short periods of tiredness or even irritability. This is generally short lived and people feel improvement once it has passed.

COACHING - How does brain based coaching work?

Our coaching programmes work both with the logical part of the brain, the Cortex, with strategies and outcomes while following a process of reregulating the emotional and survival parts of the brain. We work to rebalance them by releasing stress and building resilience through gently stimulating the sensory system. This is mind body work at it’s best.

COACHING - Are there any risks with brain based training?

None. The training and coaching process cannot cause any harm as it works gently and in a predictable, reproduceable and focused way to bring about change.

Coaches need to be properly trained and professionally competent so always check their credentials

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - If I do Personal Development using Neuroscience, how long does the process take?

You will feel an improvement in your levels of ambient stress, anxiety and depression within 6 sessions. If stress, anxiety and depression has been more chronic or severe 3-4 months will see marked change.

“It takes approximately six sessions to clear up acute stress. For those have had mild to moderate stress, it takes approximately twelve sessions to develop good baseline emotional balance. Anyone can benefit from the twelve-hour program, even if they do not consider themselves as having a specific performance or stress related problem. It takes eighteen to thirty six months to clear up all stress, if you have had a very stressful or traumatic life, especially in childhood it can take longer. Examples include chronic anxiety, depression, anger or guilt, which can be due to trauma or dysfunctional family relationships”. Anca Ramsden A.R.T founder

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - How do I know that I am making progress in my Personal Development?

You will notice your progress by how you feel from session to session. Before we begin you will do some assessments which are repeated at regular intervals and will give you tangible and measurable results. Stress emotions are released in a specific order, traumas are cleared up and childhood phases appear. As this happens you will feel better. Your coach can also usually observe signs of growth during each session.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - Will I feel the emotions that are being released?

Some of your stress emotions are cleared up without any awareness that it is happening. Sometimes you may feel an emotion that you can’t link to an event or that you have not felt for a long time. For example, feelings of irritability are common when anger is being released. You will be made aware by your coach that you are experiencing emotional memory, not anything happening in the now. You will also notice subtle changes in mood and physical signs of stress release, like tiredness.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - Can I refer my friends and family?

“Yes, you can refer family and friends. It is very common for an entire family, several generations of a family and extended family, such as adult siblings, to go through the program. When family members see the results, they often ask to be referred.” Anca Ramsden

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - What research is the Personal Development programme based on?

Child development therapies are standard practice methods, based on research in child development psychology and neurology. A.R.T. is based on the same principles of child development and uses similar and also the same therapy methods.

A research study conducted in 2008 evaluated all new adult clients attending a psychology practice over a four-month period. Twenty clients attended five sessions of A.R.T. each. Testing showed a 44 percent reduction in depression, anxiety and stress scores after five sessions. 86 percent of change was achieved within the first three visits. (Paper presented at the Australian Integrative Medicine congress in 2008 by Anca Ramsden)

A quantitative research study tracked personal development in two adult clients over a period of three years. A.R.T. was the therapy method. Similar personality growth phases were observed in all three cases. Stress responses appeared and cleared up in a specific order over a three to twelve month period.

Regression to early childhood psychological development stages was evident. Emotional resilience was raised and a more optimistic mood was established in both subjects.
